Chairman and CEO, InterActiveCorp
A former CEO at Paramount and Fox, Barry proved that traditional media titans can profitably segue onto the Internet.
His InterActiveCorp, at its height, was an S&P 500 company with over $6 billion in annual revenue. But the challenge of managing conglomerates has brought even GE to its knees, and, in August, Barry chopped IAC into 5 pieces, separating IAC's core businesses (Ask.com, Citysearch, CollegeHumor) from the Home Shopping Network, Ticketmaster, Lending Tree, and Interval.
Most recently, Barry and Tina Brown have unleashed a news-aggregating site called The Daily Beast. And we expect the recent crash will finally allow him to starting buying up companies again.
