After Yahoo acquired Friendster/MySpace/Facebook predecessor GeoCities in a multibillion-dollar deal in 1999, David Bohnett started his eponymous philanthropy foundation based in Beverly Hills, Calif. The David Bohnett Foundation funds a number of social activism causes, including AIDS, animal welfare, and voting initiatives.
Bohnett also serves as CEO of OVguide.com, a search engine for online video content (pirated films included), as well as head of private equity firm Baroda Ventures.
