Tribe Has Spoken: CNN "Hologram" Ripped Off From Star Wars

|

CNN unveiled some wicked cool technology last night, but it wasn't the "hologram." It was the interactive election screens.

The hologram, meanwhile, was a throwback to Star Wars, complete with the hunched-over, I'm-talking-to-a-droid body posture:

Help me, Wolf Blitzer, you’re my only hope!
Yeah, right. said:
Sorry to tell you this is not an hologram. Blitzer is talking to a void on studio and what we can see is a superimpose of the reporter. Nothing different from the usual weather reports. The difference is the cameras movement being synchronized on both ends.

The technology is from Cisco, there are videos of demo on YouTube. Not sure why they didnt take credit for it as everyone is talking about it.

I don't see what the big deal is unless Wolf can actually see the reporter in front of him as a hologram. Otherwise, what's the point?

There isn't a point. A case of cool technology used badly.
