Notebook: Simple notepad and bookmarks tool. Launched May 2006. Another somewhat obscure product that's useful, but relatively unknown.
Knol: Wikipedia clone consisting of articles written by experts. Launched July 2008. Knol hasn't taken the world by storm -- Wikipedia is still far more popular.
News Archive Search: Search articles over the last 200 years. Launched June 2006. In September 08, month, Google announced that it would be digitizing millions of pages of newsprint and making it searchable. Another Google feature that may not generate huge dollars for the company, but can certainly disrupt established businesses -- in this case, Nexis/Lexis.
Patent Search: Search through all 7 million patents in the U.S database. Launched Dec. 2006. The site is preferrable to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Web site, mostly because the search works much better.
Scholar: Scholar indexes and searches academic articles. Not as useful as it could be: Most articles are hidden behind pay walls. So even though you can see the headlines and abstracts, you probably won't be able to see the article. Clearly something of value for academics, but not the general public. Launched in November 2004.
University Search: Search university search engines that are powered by Google. Launched in late 2006. Hard to see how useful this product is: How often does someone need to search for something within a multitude of university Web sites?
U.S. Government Search: Search exclusively through .gov pages. Originally informally called "Google Uncle Sam." Launched in 1999, updated and re-launched in June 2006, active. Another obscure search tool for niche audiences.
