Google Search Appliance/Google Mini: A rack-mounted server that indexes your company or Web site's files and documents and offers Google search. The search appliance can hold 10 million documents; the Mini can hold 300,000 documents. This is one of the few products Google actually charges customers for: The Mini ranges from $3,000 to $10,000, based on capacity. Google doesn't list prices for its Search Appliances anymore, but the assumption is that they're still significantly more expensive than the Mini. In any event, this isn't a substantial business for Google.

Acquisitions
Marratech: Videoconferencing (Sweden), bought April 2007, used internally.
PeakStream: Parallel processing, bought in June 2007.
Postini: Email security, bought in July 2007 for $625 million. Now included in Google Apps security services.
