NY Tech Meetup Cancelled: Power Outage At IAC

Tonight's NY Tech Meetup is cancelled because of an "emergency power outage" at Barry Diller's IAC HQ, organizer Dawn Barber says:

"Everyone will automatically get a refund today or tomorrow. We tried to find a replacement venue for tonight, but couldn't find anything for all 400 of us at this late notice.

Actually the reason why tickets were still available is that they shifted to a pre-pay model this time (ie to register for the event, you have to pay via credit card ahead of time).

That made people very hesitant to sign up. Most were probably waiting until the last minute to make sure they could actually attend before paying their money
