Is Arabic Facebook's Next Language?

mark-zuckerberg.jpgCredit a big chunk of Facebook's international growth to the local-language editions they've been running: They recently launched in Chinese and Russian, which brings their language total to 21. What’s next?

Arabic, if Facebook's job board is any indication. The company is currently hiring an analyst for user operations in Arabic -- the only new language they're hiring an analyst for.

very interesting! I see a lot of Arabic usage on Facebook already, both in Arabic script and in Arabic with Roman script. The company must already have a few Arabic speakers keeping track of things - a lot of the obscenities, racial slurs and political attacks that I used to see in Arabic are less frequent now.

its not about just translating the language into arabic, the key here is that does facebook know what arab wants or how they think.
