ManiaTV Raises $5.5M Third Round
Online video network/aggregator ManiaTV has raised a $5.5 million third round, led by DAG Ventures and joined by returning backers Benchmark Capital, Centennial Ventures and Intel Capital, according to PE Hub. The latest round means Mania TV has raised $23 million since it was founded in 2004.
ManiaTV, which claims 8 million uniques , produces original Web series such as "Dave Navarro's Spread Entertainment," "Tom Green Live," and "National Lampoon's Lemmings." Last summer it shifted away from user-generated video to focus on its own live and scripted shows. The company recently moved from Denver to Los Angeles, a move CEO Peter Hoskins said "will allow us to work more closely with leaders in the entertainment industry."
