Frustrated Palm Investor Trolls BlackBerry's Facebook Page (PALM)

|

McNameeFB.jpgElevation Partners spent $325 million on a 25% stake in Palm (PALM) in June 2007. Yesterday, Palm pre-announced fiscal Q2 revenues 40% below Wall Street expectations.

But don't worry about Elevation Partners investor Roger McNamee. Roger's found a venue for taking out his frustrations: Trolling a Verizon (VZ) Wireless Facebook page touting the new RIM (RIMM) BlackBerry Storm, telling visitors to check out New York Times columnist David Pogue's nasty review.

We know Roger, who plays in a rock band with former SNL band leader G.E. Smith, is a fun guy. So this is probably just Roger being Roger. But let's hope that Palm's sharp cost cuts aren't affecting its trained P.R. team.

Who would be stupid enough to buy stock in a dying company like Palm? Roger deserves to lose it all.

Maybe next time he will do a little research before he spends his hard earned money on a dog like Palm and allow a chop shop like EP to run his finances.

As for Elevation Partners, I'm just glad I'm not one of their partners. They obviously don't know what they are doing and need to go back to finance school for some refresher courses. I'll bet they even own MSFT, thinking it would go somewhere in the past 9 years..... Oooops.

These are the morons that actually think they know what they are doing. Too funny. :o)

Funny, 2 years ago there was a person posting on the RIMM board, pumping the heck out of PALM and bashing RIMM, I would not be surprised if it was him!

Oh that is so pathetic. You know you are in trouble when your lead investor is so desparate and has nothing better to do than try to sling mud at your competitors on Facebook by promoting the rant of Apple's #1 fanboy (who was obviously pissed that Walt Mossberg got to review Storm first)! The fact that Roger is spending time sitting on the sidelines of the Apple/RIM war trying to make himself feel like he is involved shows how truly irrelevant Palm has become. And by the way Roger, it was Apple that ate your lunch so maybe you should at least half your time trying to smear Apple. You wasted a whack of money and effort trying to penetrate the business market that RIM owns and Apple meanwhile flanked you in the consumer market. Really, REALLY pathetic.
