Cramer Re-Ups At CNBC

Mad Money host Jim Cramer is sticking around at CNBC for at last the next few years. Network president Mark Hoffman let fly at a Wednesday night book party for Cramer's book, Stay Mad For Life, that the host had inked a "multi-year" deal -- we're guessing that means three years.

"Jim has played an integral part in CNBC's rebirth," Hoffman said in a release today. "He is not only one of the most respected and successful Wall Street minds but also happens to be a great entertainer." Cramer will continue to host his own 6 p.m. show as well as his Stop Trading segment on Street Signs at 2 p.m. ET.

Cramer is not forcing anyone to buy anything. He reminds his viewers daily that they should do their homework before buying and after they've brought it. He is one of the most transparent people on TV and if he makes a mistake, he owns up to it. Enuf said. Read the back and forth on markwetwatch.com - about his critism and rebutall (my him) and be fair to him and everyone else.

I would like to ask ask a question unrelated to Cramer (BTW: I bought NYX $100 on his advice last year and i'm still hoping to break even, still waiting....)What's your take on VMW. I work in IT and everything now days is about VMW. I know its a great co. with some nice long term goal.. What do you think. Can VMW take on MS in the future as the OS becomes less relied on..

Thanks

Jealous? No. I have huge admiration for Cramer's brilliance, work ethic, and genius as an entertainer. I think it's too bad that so many people have the impression that if they watch him they can beat the market, but I'm glad to see that CNBC is now de-emphasizing the "make money" promise.

Jim's a great entertainer and educator. That should be enough.
