Joost: Why We and Nate Westheimer Don't Use It

|

Don't mean to keep hammering on Joost, but apparently we aren't the only ones who don't watch it.  No matter how many emails Joost sends to Innonate's Nate Westheimer, he's not going to watch until its available on his AppleTV.  And neither are we.

A commenter on my post had a good point: If I had bought a MacMini instead of the AppleTV I could watch Joost on it (I actually won the AppleTV, to set the record straight).

That's a true statement, but not the point. I like the AppleTV (when it works) because I don't have to worry about another computer -- AppleTV *just* syncs all my stuff. Plug, and play.

Now I want to play Joost. Make it happen.

I tune into Joost sometimes -- the problem is, they've got all these great content deals going on, but so much of the content from said providers is random late-night crap from 1999. It's also surprisingly tough to navigate. Or maybe I'm just short on brains.

I truly like the idea with Joost, and I am impressed with the content they have while still in beta.

But for me Joost has to low video quality, even on a 15" screen. Its lean forward video, not lean back.

You gotta calm down regarding Joost. No one has online video figured out yet, they haven't even launched, its a web product and web products are adjustable. At least someone is leading the thinking and not just reacting. And what's with the rabid reaction to their emails? Apple iTunes, everyone sends out emails...what do you care? Settle down and give them time.
